What is a community?

Communities make it easy to connect with specific sets of people, based on shared interests, organizations, membership, and more. And, with our various privacy settings, it’s simple to control the audience of your community: 

By default, our communities are public, which allows all of our members to discover it & participate in the conversation. In most cases, a public community is the preferred option. 

However, private communities are perfect when you need to communicate with a specific group of members. A private community is exclusive & is only open to the members that you (the community admin) have invited. The content & conversations are secure, and will not be visible to anyone outside of the group.
